This house was started in 1996 and completed in 1999 and continues to be approved. The budget $46,000 and most of the materials were collected. Rocks for the foundation were harvested from the ski valley road and near by canyon. The clay for the walls came from the digging of the foundation and a root cellar. All the earth moving was done by hand with pikes, shovels, buckets and wheel barrels. Two colors of finish grade clay found, were applied to finish the walls in and out. Wood for the second story was milled from Ponderosa pine burned in the 1996 lama forest fire.
